Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how payments and email are handled, and how you can contact us about your data.
Last updated: June 2026
We collect account information such as name, email address, password credentials, Google sign-in identifiers, and optional profile details such as location, gender, date of birth, avatar, and bio.
We also collect learning activity such as enrollments, wishlist activity, course progress, reviews, and payment history. Teacher applicants may submit biography, teaching domains, tradition, experience, links, publications, certifications, and other application details.
Like most web services, we may process technical information such as device, browser, IP-derived security signals, request logs, and error diagnostics needed to keep the platform reliable and secure.
Paid course transactions are processed by Razorpay. Guruj does not store card numbers, UPI credentials, CVV codes, or full payment instrument details on our servers. We store payment metadata needed to confirm enrollment, support disputes, and maintain records, such as payment status, order ID, payment ID, amount, and course purchased.
Guruj uses Zoho Mail SMTP for transactional emails such as verification, password reset, enrollment, teacher application, and course review messages. Automated emails are sent from noreply@guruj.co. Teacher-related replies may route to hello@guruj.co.
We do not sell personal data. We share data only as needed to operate Guruj, including with infrastructure, authentication, email, storage, analytics, error monitoring, and payment providers. We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect learners, teachers, and the platform.
Guruj uses browser storage and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, interface state, security, and product functionality. You can clear browser storage, but doing so may sign you out or interrupt parts of the platform.
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and financial obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and preserve accurate learning and payment records. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it where practical.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by contacting support@guruj.co. Some records may need to be retained for legal, fraud prevention, payment, or platform integrity reasons.
Guruj may include learning content suitable for children and families, but account use by minors should happen with parent or guardian involvement. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact support@guruj.co.
For privacy questions or requests, write to support@guruj.co with the subject line "Privacy request".
